Strategic directions

Read our strategic directions 2024–2026: person-centred, inclusive and trusted services supporting nurses, midwives and students, and fostering a great workplace.

Strategic goals 2024–2026

1. Continue to lead and innovate

We will provide a person-centred, evidence-based service that is sensitive to the health needs of nurses, midwives and students, especially those in susceptible and marginalised groups within the professions.

We will research and evaluate our programs and have processes for improving service quality.

Our policies and procedures will be updated to reflect users’ diverse needs and professional standards.

We will maintain accreditation and make sure our staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver the service safely and effectively.

User feedback will help us measure our performance and improve our services.

2. To be a trusted partner

We will develop partnerships with:

  • organisations that specialise in health and support to enhance our service offering
  • stakeholders to understand and meet the diverse needs of those in the professions
  • researchers to evaluate, measure and improve our service
  • partners to ensure that all nurses, midwives, students have access to services, as required.

We will operate a financially sound organisation that is a trusted and leading resource that promotes the health of Victorian nurses, midwives and nursing and midwifery students.

3. To be inclusive and accessible

We will promote all programs and ensure services are recognised and accessible across Victorian health services, regardless of cultural background, experience or location.

4. To be a great place to work

We will foster strong leadership, open communication, teamwork and opportunities for development. We will promote a healthy work-life balance, wellness and recognise employees.

Our employees will feel valued, fulfilled, motivated, and proud to be a part of the organisation. Our work environment will be safe. Employees will trust one another and enjoy good working relationships.

Each employee will experience work consistently, no matter who they are, what they do, or where they work. Each will be remunerated appropriately and access benefits, clinical supervision, debriefing, and professional development opportunities.
