Tips for when you’re just starting

- Document promptly. Record facts, times, and actions.
- Know your scope and escalate. Better early than late.

- Reflect after shifts. One thing done well, one to improve.
- Plan your CPD. Log courses and competencies.
- Set boundaries. Breaks, roster rights, and rest matter.
- Look after your mental health. Use EAP, peer support, or NMHPV.
