What to expect from our service
We’re here to give Victorian nurses, midwives, and students a safe space to talk and be heard. Whether you’re feeling stressed, burned out, juggling workplace challenges, going through WorkCover or disciplinary processes, or dealing with family pressures, you don’t have to face it alone.
We offer free individually tailored one-on-one peer support counselling with our experienced nurse/midwife clinicians via in-person appointments, online via Telehealth or by phone.
Requesting our support
Reaching out is simple — just give us a call on 03 9415 7551 or fill in our self-referral form.
When you book an appointment, you’ll be matched with a nurse or midwife clinician. They will work alongside you to explore challenges, clarify concerns, and provide guidance, support, and practical advice and coping strategies. Together, you can find solutions that may include setting personal or wellbeing goals, building stronger coping skills, or making positive changes.
Proceeding with support sessions
At your first session, we’ll guide you through a short mental health screening. From there, our senior clinician will talk with you about what’s going on and suggest some next steps. You’re always in the driver’s seat — you set the pace, and we’ll be beside you the whole way. Our aim is to develop and work on strategies that may assist you.
Our clinicians meet with you privately in one-on-one sessions, taking the time to really listen to your story without judgment. They’ll support you in making sense of what feels overwhelming right now. Because many people have a lot happening in their lives, we’ll gently work with you to focus on one or two concerns at a time.
We generally offer up to 6 sessions, but more can be arranged if needed.
